Viscose fiber

Wovers GmbH supplies various types of textile grade fibers.

Viscose fiber

Viscose fibers are semi-synthetic cellulosic fibers, meaning their source is natural but they have gone through a regeneration process. Cellulose from natural sources, such as wood and agricultural wastes is solubilized and separated from the impurities. The solubilized solution is converted to fibers by wet spinning process. Viscose fibers have the same chemical structure base as cotton fibers, which is cellulose polymer. Therefore, viscose fibers have the similar properties as cotton fibers, such as high hydrophilicity, breathability, and comfort Moreover, viscose fibers are cheaper than cotton fibers. However, the appearance of viscose fibers is different from cotton fibers and are brighter and smoother in touch. Viscose fibers can be dyed with a variety of textile dyes such as reactive, direct and vat dyes.
