Vat Dye

Vat dyes are water insoluble dyes which are used for cellulosic fiber, they are based on indigo and anthraquinone chemical structure. Through the dyeing process the dye becomes soluble by reduction. After being absorbed to the fiber the dye becomes insoluble again by oxidation reaction. Vat dyes have high light and washing fastnesses with moderate rubbing fastness which is suitable for jeans.
